Day 2: Transfer to Chobe National Park [Savuti] – Camping
Early morning after enjoying our breakfast, the journey takes us to Chobe National Park in Savuti, one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana (part of Chobe). The next 3 days will be spent searching for a variety of wildlife and birds. Camping is in private designated areas with our own ablutions. The camp backup team will be ahead to set up the camp. Game drive all the way to the camp.
BEGIN YOUR STAY AT BUSH ROVER SAFARIS MOBILE TENTED CAMP
The Meru-style tents measure 3 metres by 4 metres, with a high roof and a porch at the front. They are equipped with comfortable beds with a mattress plus high-quality bedding that includes a duvet and pillows. There are insect screens on all windows and doors. A zipped door at the rear leads into an open-roofed en-suite bathroom with a bucket shower and long drop bush toilet. Showers can be ordered as hot, warm, or cold. Water is heated in a bucket at the kitchen fire and brought to the tent when requested, though the guide reserves the authority to limit water use if necessary. Soap, hand towels and bath towels are supplied.
ACTIVITIES: Game drives, sundowner
Day 3 & 4: Chobe National Park [Savuti] – Full Days – Camping
The backup team early in the morning will wake you up. Warm water will be ready in the front bathing basin to freshen up the face. As soon as you are ready, you can visit the dining room for breakfast to start the day ready for morning game drives. After the morning drive, we come back to the camp for lunch and siesta – that is the best time for a shower.
ACTIVITIES: Game drives, rock paintings
Day 5: Transfer to Moremi Game Reserve [Khwai] – Camping
The safari takes us to another destination – Moremi Game Reserve in the Khwai area. As the sun rises, you will be transferred from Savuti to Khwai (eastern Moremi) for the next 2 days. This is where we will do a mokoro exploration on the second day of our stay to enjoy the spectacular landscape of this unique region.
Day 6: Moremi Game Reserve [Khwai] – Full Day
Early morning after our breakfast, we will embark on a drive to the mokoro station. The mode of transport will change to mokoro (canoe), which will be used to explore the Khwai River. You will meet polers who will be poling you the entire activity. They are professionals and skilled with much information about the area. This will give you a chance to get pictures closer and enjoy the tranquillity.
ACTIVITIES: Game drives, mokoro exploration, bush walks
Day 7: Transfer to Moremi Game Reserve [Xini, Xakanaxa] – Camping
Today the journey takes us to another part of Moremi Game Reserve – Xakanaxa. Early morning after breakfast, slowly you will be doing a game drive transfer for the last three (3) days. Moremi Game Reserve is one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana, covering swamps and dry areas. The next three days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region.
Day 8 & 9: Moremi Game Reserve [Xakanaxa, Xini] – Full Days – Camping
Today we have full days – this will give us a chance to explore a wide range of Moremi. This is an excellent area for birdwatching as it is relatively easy to access permanent water pools, allowing for close sightings. This reserve is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled in Africa, covering nearly 5,000 square kilometres of floodplain and grasslands intertwined with riverine forest and lagoons. This diverse ecosystem provides a mosaic of habitats for a wide variety of mammals. The area is home to a resident herd of several hundred buffalo whose range covers the territories of at least four prides of lions, which are often seen flanking the perpetually moving herds. Breeding herds of elephants move between the water and mopane woodland where animals go to browse.
