This 7-days/6 nights  Kalahari Safari offers a unique opportunity to explore the remote and untouched wilderness of Botswana’s Central Kalahari Game Reserve. With comfortable camping accommodations, thrilling game drives, and the expertise of skilled guides, you’ll gain a deep appreciation for the desert habitat and its remarkable wildlife.

Arrival Day: Maun International Airport [Lodging]

Upon arrival, a professional guide from Bush Rover Safaris will be waiting at the airport with a board written your name. He will meet and greet you and transfer you to the lodge where you will overnight.

Day 1: Transfer to Central Kalahari Game Reserve – Camping

After breakfast at the lodge, your guide will be waiting to start the safari, which will take almost a full day. We have our packed lunch with us and expect to find a nice shady spot on the way. From Maun, it is a tarred road 65 km to the village of Makalamabedi, then off-road to the Matswere gate.

Central Kalahari Game Reserve is mostly flat and gently undulating, covered with bush and grasses covering the sand dunes and areas of larger trees. The game reserve is Botswana’s biggest reserve, situated in the middle of the Kalahari Desert. The inhospitable desert habitat doesn’t support the wide variety of safari animals found in greener destinations – but sightings in this arid landscape are special.

Day 2 & 3: Central Kalahari Game Reserve [Letiahau] – Camping

Full days in Letiahau. Our safari will be in Central Kalahari. You will explore the area, home to a fascinating variety of desert-specialised wildlife such as oryx, springbok, eland and cheetah. Camping is at a designated private campsite.

ACTIVITIES: Game drives, sundowner

Day 4: Transfer to Deception [Camping]

Following an early breakfast, we prepare to continue our journey to Deception Valley, stopping for a picnic lunch en route. A typical safari day starts at sunrise, with tea, coffee, cereals and porridge around the campfire before we head out on an early morning game drive. All meals are seated and served in the shade protection of a dining mess tent.

Day 5 & 6: Deception Valley [Camping]

Today is your last day camping with Bush Rover Safaris arrangements. Enjoy your final morning activities followed by a leisurely breakfast before continuing with other travel arrangements.

Day 7: Transfer to Maun – Optional Scenic Flight Over the Okavango Delta

Today the journey takes us to another part of Moremi Game Reserve – Xakanaxa. Early morning after breakfast, slowly you will be doing game drives transfer for the last three [3] days. Moremi Game Reserve is one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana, which covers swamps and dry areas. The next three days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region.

SAHARA TENT

  • We charge $540 per person sharing per day and we confirm custom-made itineraries for a minimum of two (2) people.
  • For single travelers, the rate is $525 per person per day.
  • Professional photographers or those who want a maximum of two (2) in a vehicle will be charged $740 per person per day with a minimum of two (2) guests.
  • For a group of 6 to 8 guests, the rate drops to $520 per person per day.

 

PRICE INCLUDES

  • Camping equipment and accommodation: spacious Sahara tent (4m×3m) with a high roof, en-suite bathroom (2m×3m), veranda area (2m×3m) in front, chair, table, toilet, shower at the back, washing basin, water jug, shampoo, body wash, toilet paper, bedding with pillow, duvet, blanket, side table, side mat, mattresses.
  • Rooms at comfortable lodges in Kasane/Maun/Vic Falls/Livingstone.
  • All transfers and activities as per the itinerary.
  • All meals indicated (B-breakfast, L-lunch, D-dinner), including drinks (white wine, red wine, gin, local beer, soft drinks, drinking water, tea/coffees).
  • Professional guide service, waiter, chef, and camp assistant.
  • All Botswana park fees, camp fees for activities included in the itinerary.
  • Transport in specialized safari vehicles and a backup vehicle for equipment.
