Day 1: Meet & Greet,  Thamotelele Lodge

You will meet your guide at Maun Airport. From here you will jump into a minibus to be transferred to the lodge for the first night – a little bush haven conveniently in Maun, your first stop before heading off into the Okavango Delta. Set among the lush forest of old growth leadwood, bird plum and acacia trees, Thamotelele is a safari-style camp set in a 250-hectare private reserve.

Thamotelele Lodge is located along the Thamalakane River, with a hive of activities to dive into from boat cruises to game drives. The focus is on learning, appreciating and being humbled by this vast and ancient landscape. The area is packed with plains game.

Day 2: Bushman Lodge [Dqae Qare]

You have an early start this morning. Leaving straight after breakfast, we will make our way to the western Ghani region – a pristine wilderness in the desert on the road to Gantsi town. This is where you will spend a night. It is one of the most beautifully iconic landscapes deep in the desert. The area has an excellent reputation for walking experiences and the Bushman lifestyle, with a variety of birds.

Distance: 153 km / 2 hours

Day 3 & 4: Transfer to Khwai [Khwai Guest House]

After a leisurely start to this morning and a delicious breakfast in camp, we make our way back to Maun. Your guide will drive you to Maun Airport for an air charter to transfer you to Khwai. Spend 2 nights enjoying the landscape of the Moremi Game Reserve.

Day 5 & 6: Transfer to Mababe River Lodge

Following an early breakfast, you will make your way to Mababe Village to Mababe River Lodge, where you will spend 2 nights. This will give you the opportunity to see the delta end from the Angola highlands.

Day 7 & 8: Mogogelo Camp

Today gives you the opportunity to get into a camp within a village called Kazikini. We will spend the last 2 nights with a variety of activities. Enjoy an afternoon around the waterhole watching elephants drinking water. As night falls in and around the camp, savour a refreshing drink followed by a walk back to tents along walkways of twinkling lights.
