Your safari adventure begins as you depart from Maun and head into the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve, one of Botswana’s most iconic wildlife areas. You will arrive at your mobile safari camp, set in a scenic location near Xini Lagoon, where you’ll settle in. The area is known for its tranquil beauty and excellent wildlife viewing, including leopard sightings, herds of antelope, and the occasional wild dog. After a day of thrilling game drives, you’ll return to camp to enjoy dinner and the company of fellow adventurers around the campfire beneath the star-filled African sky.

Today, you’ll venture further north to Xakanaxa, a lush region within the Moremi Game Reserve. This area is renowned for its beautiful floodplains and waterways, attracting large herds of elephants and red lechwe, as well as an abundance of vibrant birdlife. You’ll spend the day exploring this diverse habitat, enjoying game drives and observing the rich wildlife that thrives in this area. The evening will be spent back at your mobile camp, where you can relax around the fire and reflect on your day’s adventures.
On the third day, you’ll travel to Bodumatau, a more remote and less-visited area of the Moremi Game Reserve. Known for its open plains, this area is a haven for predators, including lion prides and hyena clans. The landscape is wild and beautiful, offering excellent opportunities for spotting these apex predators. After exploring Bodumatau, you will continue to Third Bridge, a region famous for its mix of wet and dry habitats. This area offers thrilling water crossings and opportunities to see large animals like buffalo, giraffes, and even the elusive sitatunga in the swamps. Another unforgettable evening is spent at your camp, sharing stories under the African sky.
After breakfast on Day 4, you’ll travel to the Khwai Community Concession, a pristine wilderness bordering the northeastern edge of Moremi. This area is community-managed, offering exceptional game viewing and a more intimate safari experience. Unlike national parks, off-road driving and night drives are permitted here, increasing your chances of spotting nocturnal wildlife.
Over three days, you’ll explore Khwai’s varied landscapes—riverine forests, open plains, and winding waterways—all home to a high density of wildlife including elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The highlight of your Khwai stay is a serene mokoro excursion on the Khwai River. Accompanied by expert polers from the local community, you’ll glide silently through lily-covered channels, observing frogs, birds, and perhaps a shy sitatunga hidden among the reeds. This traditional canoe experience offers a peaceful and deeply immersive connection with the delta’s ecosystem.
